Please welcome Beau! Beau is 14 months old and was recently released to the care of CHBR after being seized by animal control from a breeder/hoarding situation in New Orleans. This case involved 30 dogs living in deplorable conditions. While 17 dogs have been taken in by another rescue, Beau is among the two now with CHBR, and we couldn’t be more excited to finally have him safe with us.
In the breeder’s home, Beau lived in a small wire crate, stacked atop another, a situation that led to him and the other dogs living in their own waste. This confinement has left physical signs on him, with staining from urine and feces, as well as emotional scarring.
Despite these harsh conditions, Beau is now safe, but in need of a foster or permanent home. He will require a supportive environment to adjust to a normal, healthy life. Beau’s future family or foster family will play a crucial role in helping him recover from his past and learn to enjoy the simple pleasures of a loving home. Beau will need lots time and patience. He may have some bathroom accidents and he will need help learning to walk on a leash. He knows nothing right now. A home without young children would suit him best for now, as he is quite timid. Loud noises and fast movements may worry him. In addition to the needs mentioned above, we will REQUIRE A PHYSICAL FENCE to be considered for him.
