🐻 Please give the warmest welcome to Mama Bear and her sweet little Bear Litter.
Mama is only about 1.5–2 years old. She should have been someone’s beloved dog. Instead, when her “owners” moved away, they left her in the backyard with her babies and walked away.
No food.
No water.
No one coming back for her.
Just a young mother, trying to keep her puppies alive.
Thankfully, one neighbor saw what was happening and did their best to bring her food and water. But another neighbor reportedly threatened to shoot Mama and her babies because they were considered an annoyance. We cannot confirm exactly what happened, but we were also told that Mama’s mate had already been killed.
Imagine being abandoned by the people you trusted, left outside to fend for yourself, and then having to protect your babies from the very people who should have been protecting you. 💔
But Mama never gave up.
And somehow, despite everything, she is still incredibly sweet. Gentle. Easygoing. Wonderful with people and other dogs. She has the kind of temperament that makes you wonder how anyone could have looked at this beautiful girl and walked away.
Since being saved, Mama has been steadily gaining weight and getting healthier. Her body is finally getting the food and care she was denied for so long.
Her babies are safe.
Mama is safe.
And the backyard she was abandoned in is finally behind her.
We can’t change what happened to Mama Bear. We can’t give her back the days she spent hungry and afraid. But we can make sure the rest of her life is filled with kindness, safety, full bowls, soft beds, and people who will never leave her behind.
