Since arriving in the Northeast Maximo has learned sit & paw and the household routine on which he thrives. He loves his foster sister (even though she bosses him around) and would love siblings with 2 or 4 legs in his furever home. Strange men and loud voices still make him a bit nervous but he loves to cuddle, kiss and be petted by his friends.
Over a year ago, Maximo was abandoned at a vacant property with a female boxer. The purebred female was taken by a rescue. Her mixed pup Maximo was left behind to fend for himself. As a juvenile he hid from wild animals that killed other strays, scavenged for food & sheltered from storms. A local soon gained Maximo’s trust. He waited daily at her gate for a meal. If he didn’t show, she worried about him. She knew he needed a rescue to reach his 3rd birthday. We heard Maximo’s story & saw videos of how he survived. It was impossible not to help.
